TRAINING CENTRE FOR CIVIL PROTECTION AND DISASTER RELIEF IN IG

The Training Centre for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief of the Republic of Slovenia was established in 1992 by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief with the purpose of educating and training citizens in the field of protection against natural and other disasters.

The Training Centre in Ig is responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating and providing education and training of personnel in the field of protection against natural and other disasters. It provides certain training programmes for Civil Protection members, members of emergency units and services, and for other operational structures of societies and other non-governmental organizations, commercial companies, institutes and other organizations. These training programmes include:

Support Section

The Support Section provides logistic support and is responsible for providing accommodation and food for training participants, material and technical means for the conduct of all the activities, on-going maintenance of facilities and equipment, and the procurement of resources, equipment and food.


Fire Service College

The tasks of the Fire Service College are:

The Fire Service College is in the process of being established. It will implement a verified short-cycle higher study programme in fire-fighting. The study programme will last for two years and will provide short-cycle higher education degree, according to which students will receive the title of fire engineer. The basic objective of this programme is to provide participants with wide professional and technical knowledge as well as practical applied knowledge in the field of fire-fighting. The Fire-Fighting College will provide practical training for students and other participants.
